Leopard Love Connection #OOTD

Loved my leopard silk Blouse with bright teal jeans!
I have found this shirt to be super versatile, and it is amazing how leopard becomes a neutral when paired with a more eye catching color!
I paired the outfit with a pair of patent nude ballet flats so as not to draw attention away from the clothes.
I am wearing a studded silver necklace from H&M that I got the other day. It gave a little "rock-n-roll" vibe.
Oh and of course the accessory I cant live with out -my Michael Kors rose gold watch.
Hope all my sassparilla's had, are having, or will have (depending on your time zone) a wonderful Monday!

My Spring Flings: things i'm lusting for this spring/summer!

Howdy Sassparilla's! So Spring is officially here and with each new season, comes new products, or styles that i'm dying to try out. I've compiled my most recent list to share with you all. Lets dive into it shall we?

1. The Perfume Saint Tropez by Smell Bent. Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with smelling like a coconut. Hair products, lotions, body sprays, and whatever else I can get my hands on. I love that smell. It just makes me feel all warm and beachy (which is my favorite way to feel) So while reading through the May issue of Lucky Magazine I ran across an ad for this perfume and my obsession in fueled once again. Hello My Name Is Jennifer and I am a COCONUT-AHOLIC!

2. Oxfords I absolutely love the look of these shoes! I love them paired with a super girly dress, the mix of the feminine dress/ masculine style of the shoe = MIND BLOWN heres a link to a few of my favorite pairs that I found.

3.  Copper eyeliner pencil I was looking for a new eye makeup product to add to my collection for the spring/summer that would enhance my green eye color as well and be out of the normal everyday browns and blacks I line my eye with. I found a really amazing copper pencil that does the trick.

4. Heart shaped sunglasses  Now let me just say sunglasses for me are something I collect. I could never have too many, I love funky styles and unique frame shapes. To me the heart shaped frames are just so adorable . I love the fun factor they bring to even the simplest outfit of a plain t and jeans look! Here are the links to my top picks :

5. Rompers!! I love fashion choices for spring and summer that are no brainers. I live in maxi dresses most of the summer but this year I really want to try out a romper! They are the complete outfit all on there own but also would look great belted with a statement belt, or made a bit dressier by adding a light fitted blazer for a night out!

I love these!

Beauty's View; An Interview With model Lina Sav

Hello all today I have a feature comletely new to A Class of Sass and I am very excited about it! Beauty's View will be an on going feature where I interview people within the beauty industry on their views on beauty, style, and life in general. My first feature is the Gorgeous Model Lina Sav who was kind enough to grant me this interview. I hope you all enjoy this blog post as well as the addition to this element of A Class of Sass.

For those not already familiar with Lina, she started modeling very young when her mother signed her up with a modeling agency in Russia, where she is originally from. As a child she was on many kids shows as well as other television programs. While Lina was in school she didnt have much time for modeling, but when she turned 17 she started traveling. Her first trip was to Europe(Brussels) and then she went on to move to Los Angeles. It was there that Lina transitioned into more on camera work. Currently she is on contract in Asia doing more print work than anything else.

A.C.O.S-What has been your most memorable modeling job thus far?
LINA-"Honestly, I dont think there is one job that stands out from the rest. All the shoots are pretty much different and unique, especially editorials. The makeup and colors they use are pretty intense. Sometimes I end up looking like a rainbow palette."

A.C.O.S- What are some valuable makeup tips that you have learned from makeup artists along the way?
LINA-"I learned that less is more. I dont even want to do my makeup unless I have a casting to attend. I also learned the importance of taking your makeup off and washing your face before bed. Using makeup wipes is not enough. Washing , using toner, then applying night cream is crucial."

A.C.O.S- Does modeling take a toll on your hair, and what do you do to keep it healthy ?
LINA- "Yes! my hair is destroyed from the constant hair curling, straightening, teasing, and hair spraying. (sometimes repeated multiple times during the same shoot) How do I keep it healthy? Its Practically impossible. I constantly have to trim my ends. I do tend to spend a little more money on my hair products, and take B complex vitamins. On the days I dont have a shoot, I dont touch my hair. I wash it and let it air dry.

A.C.O.S.- Do you work out regularly and if so what is your routine like?
LINA- "I dont work out as much as I should. Running is the best thing you can do to shed fat though. I believe a good diet is more important than sweating at the gym. When I need to lose a few pounds I cut out sugar. I eat very clean for the most part. I never eat fast food and try to cook at home as much as possible."

Sunday =Beauty Detox Day

Hello Sassparilla's happy Sunday to you all! Sunday is what I call my beauty detox day. It is the day where I wash away my week. I start the day by washing my hair of all products and really give it a good conditioning treatment, I do not blow dry it I just towel dry and leave it to air dry . Next I thoroughly cleanse my face and do a pore cleansing mask. Sundays I leave my face completely natural with no makeup just moisturizer and sunscreen. I remove my nail polish and leave my bare nails unpolished. I do not fuss over what to wear I either stay in my pjs or put on some leggings and a t-shirt  and really just relax! It may seem silly to do this to some people but to me there are many benefits and its really quite freeing. It's like recharging yourself for the upcoming week and it is pretty essential for me. Now don't get me wrong I I have an event to go to on a Sunday I'm not going to show up in my sweats and bunny slippers but I will tell you that if I don't have my Sunday beauty detox I find that it is really hard for me to get the week going with the same pep. So while I was going through my Sunday beauty detox routine today I thought to myself "I wonder if anyone else does this?" And hence a blog baby was born :) so how about it sassparilla's are any of you detoxing today?? What do you make sure to do?

Throwback Thursday : teased hair don't care!

So today I thought in honor of the "throwback Thursday" viral trend I thought , why not look at a throw back hairstyle ! The teased up early 90's wall bangs!! Do any of my sassparilla's remember this hairstyle? For those that don't know what it was, it was basically teasing your bangs as high as you can and swooping them over to one side created basically a teased wave or wall! The higher your bangs the more fabulous you were!
Now I searched high and low for a picture of myself with these bangs for today's post but I think they are hidden away in a old hair archive somewhere in an alternate universe (or they could just be at my parents house) but if I stumble upon it later I will definitely post a picture!
Xoxo Jennifer
Ps what was your fave throwback hairstyle??

My Style starting Lineup...

Hi sassparilla's happy Tuesday to you all! Todays Post is about my top five style influences as well who are all pretty iconic as far as im concerned. These five women have in some way shape or form influenced me in my style wether it be through fashion or beauty or both. Lets get the party going, shall we?

1. Marilyn Monroe- For myself and millions of women everywhere Marilyn Monroe signifies beauty. She was one of those women who just had the "it" factor. Everything about her , from her demeanor to the way she dressed just exuded sexiness. Marilyn was the ultimate girls girl to say the least. No one since has ever made, what was essentially a pretty basic white dress, blowing up over a sewer grate look so absolutely glamorous!

2. Stevie Nicks- Now I realize some of my followers here may be too young to know who Stevie Nicks is (which by the way is a damn shame) She is the lead vocalist from the band Fleetwood Mac. To me Stevie's style is pure mystical magic. Growing up with parents of the woodstock era, I remember looking at the album photo's of Stevie and thinking how amazing it must feel to twirl around on stage in her flowy dresses with long bell shaped sleeves and long tousled hair. Not to mention the voice of an angel! Her gypsy style speaks to the hippie portion of my soul!

3.Gwen Stefani- I started following Gwens style I would say my freshman year of highschool when her band No Doubt really became wildly popular. She was like this edgy tomboy that held onto her femininity through her signiture red lipstick. (which she still rocks proudly to this day) I love her eclectic style and her confidence to push the envelope.

4.Rachel Zoe-One word describes her style (and its one of hers) MAJOR. I don't know if there has ever been another woman on this planet who knows vintage design, or how to wear it, like she does. No one (and I say this with certainty) knows fashion like her. To me her vintage hippie chic look is an absolute dream. If I was able to have any persons closet on this planet as some sort of magical wish, I would choose Rachel's. Rachel Zoe's style is like a vintage work of art made relevant for todays day and age.

5. Nicole Richie- As a person Nicole is someone I really admire. Once upon a time I would have never said that, because lets face it she used to be somewhat of a train wreck. The Paris Hilton era did not wear well on my girl Nicole. It Wasnt good for her fashion sense or her common sense for that matter. Like most of us eventually do at some point she gave her life an overhaul and out emerged a bohemian style beauty! Her style evolved so much that House of Harlow 1960 was born, (for those that live under a fashion rock this is her own line) I just love how effortlessly cool she always looks, she never overcomplicates her wardrobe!

Thats my style starting lineup which is really nothing more than a ramble about my girl crushes lol but I hope you enjoyed it! Until next time ...

A Fab face for under $ 25!

Hello all ! So I thought I would give myself a bit of a challenge this week to find quality products, that would create a flawless everyday makeup look. All for under $25 and I have made it happen folks! So here are the products that made the cut!
Elf mineral face primer is amazing and feels amazing on your skin ! This was $3 and worth every penny!
Loreal visible lift foundation has great coverage without feeling heavy on your skin, it was $13 and foundation was where I made the conscious choice to spend the bulk of my $25 dollar budget because for me it is what really makes the everything else work.
Next up I purchased Elf high definition face powder for $3 just to set my makeup for a lasting effect. It really worked quite well. I would say it is a good dupe for the pricey Makeup Forever powder that I love!
Last product I purchased was the blush and bronzer kit by the brand FLOWER in the shade gloriously golden. The bronzer is matte with no shimmer which I love for contouring, and the blush is a perfect pastel pink great for spring! This product was $6 such a great deal for an amazing blush/bronzer duo!
Grand total for all my fellow math genius' out there ....$25 !!
High end makeup is amazing but there are always quality drugstore products on the market that are completely comparable! Hope you all enjoyed this , I had fun with it!
 Xoxo Jennifer

.com shopping for my curvy girls

Fellow curvy girls this post is for you! I am 5'10" and def have some well padded curves ( your welcome for that mental image) but I have gotten really good at dressing up that extra fluff with the help from some amazing .com shopping sites as well as reg stores. Today though I'm going to share with you my favorite online sites for my fashionable curvy chics. I get asked about it all the time by friends associated etc who also have a little extra fluff but don't know how to dress it up. Disclaimer - nothing is going to look good on you if you do not get the appropriate size. There is nothing that looks worse than a fluffy girl packed into an outfit like she is in a sausage casing trying to break free! Ok let's get to that list...
1. Target.com -great pieces especially basics to maximize your wardrobe.

2.Asoscurve.com - really great for funky pieces , obsessed with this site

3.Forever21.com- most people don't know but they carry a line for the fluffy but fabulous

4.Dots.com- cute clothing at a really affordable Price point!

5.H&M.com- this one is probably the one that shocks people the most when I tell them. They also carry a line of larger sizes online , that are super trendy and chic !

Well this is my top notch list , I hope some of you will find it helpful or for the skinny's reading at least somewhat amusing! Until next time ladies , keep it sassy !

The Green Beauty Guide: my review

Hi all , I'm excited to share with you today something a bit different than the normal class of sass mojo! As most of you probably know from previous posts my family and I have made a conscious decision to try and live as much of an "organic" lifestyle as possible. We started with our diets, and we have started switching over our cleaning supplies and such, but as I was sitting home the other day I started thinking about the amount of chemicals my beauty products contained. Now may I just say that I will not be switching all my beauty products to their organic counterparts. although i am willing to take a deeper look into organic beauty and possibly make at least a few changes to my daily routine. (Don't judge me, I'm attached to my products)
Organic beauty products is not my area of expertise (yet anyway) so I was going to need help. I went to my local library and found an amazing book called "The Green Beauty Guide" by Julie Gabriel. If your anything like me , I always want to know what makes someone an authority on a topic? Before I put too much weight on what anyone has to say ,about any areas of interest, I want to know I'm not wasting my time on someone who has no background to back up what they claim. I was pleasantly surprised by the authors credentials. Ms. Gabriel's credentials include but are not limited to; she was once associate editor at Harper's Bazaar, beauty editor for Atmosphere's, went on to create her own organic skin care line called Petite Marie Organics, as well as write the book I'm going to review for you today.
The Green Beauty Guide starts by explains how your bodies largest organ, your skin, works. Which becomes helpful in understanding how different products work or in some cases don't work for us. The book also goes into detail about all the chemicals that are in the products we use and how they are harmful to us. As someone who obviously loves beauty products this was hard for me to read. I was really happy when the book then started giving examples of organic brand beauty products to try instead as well as an added bonus of multiple DIY recipes for products anyone can make at home!
This book was packed with information but I found myself really engaged by the things Ms. Gabriel chose to write about. I am definitely going to at the very minimum try to be more conscious of what the ingredients in my beauty product choices are. Wherever possible i will swap them out for the recommended organic brand or one of the DIY recipes from the book! Baby steps right? If you would like more info please visit the authors website thegreenbeautyguide.com and I hope you enjoyed your time here at A Class of Sass!
xoxo. Jennifer

class of sass idle chatter

Hi guys, hope you all are doing well! I wanted to sit down today and sort of touch base with you all on  a more personal level, sort of like a friendly virtual coffee date. I know my posts haven't been as frequent as I'd like lately and I apologize, If I could do this 24/7 I totally would! If you have followed my blog for a while  then you know that I am a mother to two kids, as well as a part-time old lady college student (no snickering) so just those two tasks alone keep me pretty busy on their own. I have also just recently started a new job so things don't look to be slowing down any time soon. With that said I have also decided that I am going to try and start posting on a regular basis at least a few posts a week just to touch base with you all and share what I can along the way! Now wouldn't you know that as soon as I made the resolution to myself to be more beauty blog diligent, there was a terrible accident here in my household...my daughter while doing homework research on my laptop, accidentally sent it plummeting from our kitchen table onto the hardwood floors. Time of death: 3:35p. It was awful and gruesome and I'm pretty sure my daughter thought she would soon be living in a Swedish Boarding School (lucky for her I can't afford that!) Lucky for me my fiance has one that he has graciously allowed me to use until I get a new one.

curling iron to curling wand

Hello my Sassparilla's I'm not going to start this post apologizing for my absence from blogging, you all know the deal school , kids, family, blah blah blah. What I am going to talk about is how after months of wanting a curling wand but not wanting to spend the money on one (or hear my fiance yap about all my hair stuff consuming the bathroom for the millionth time) I decided to try and convert my regular Conair curling iron into a magical wand. If you don't know what a curling wand is it is basically a curling iron without the clip to hold your hair onto the barrel. The reason I wanted the curling wand is because you can achieve a much more natural looking wave like curl. Very mermaidesque (and who doesn't want to look like a mermaid?) So I figured I would just unscrew a few parts and see what I was left with. Low and behold it worked so I thought I'd share this with you girls and now if you'd like to try and do it yourself you can. *disclaimer : if you choose to attempt this you are liable for any damage you incur to your hair tool, in other words IT AIN'T MY FAULT!*
So here is what you will need:

your curling Iron
a screwdriver
a plastic bag to hold the parts you will be removing from your curling iron

I started by just simply taking a screw driver from my guys closet (the cross one, idk what its called i'm a girl :) and unscrewing the screw from either side of the curling iron barrel. These screws are what attatch the clip part of the curling iron. Some people might say why can u not just leave it and go around the barrell and the clip with the hair but I've tried that and you always end up with a visable crease in your curl somewhere. once you have unscrewed the clip put the screws and other pieces in a plastic bag for safe keeping.
If you haven't used a wand before or don't know how all you are going to do is grab a section of hair and manually wrap it around your now transformed curling iron/wand and hold in place for about 5 seconds (or longer depending on size of section, length of hair , etc) when u let go you should have a mermaidesque curl/wave. I will include a picture of my hair curled this way. Hope you find this blogpost useful! Until next time my sassy ladies...

New beauty review!

Hi All my sassparilla's!!  I am here to hit you with a bunch of new product reviews that i've been slacking on so lets get right into it shall we?

So the first product I tried was Erase Paste by benefit. The product claims to brighten and conceal in one easy step and I purchased it in shade 1 fair . I purchased this item after reading loads of rave reviews on it by other bloggers . I bought mine at Sephora and I believe it was in the 24$ price range . I was so excited to give it a try because I thought the "illuminating" aspect of the product would give me a very fresh faced look in conjunction with my foundation. I was tremendously disappointed my friends! It was such a womp..womp..womp loosing gameshow contestant moment. I found it to be so thick and goopy and after applying it to my under eye area it just looked caked on. A definite dud in my opinion I have purchased multiple drugstore concealers that actually worked better than this product! I will not be repurchasing this. Ever!
So the same day @ Sephora I purchased one of their brand lipsticks in the shade "sunset rythm" which is an amazing shade of orange which is probably not everyone's cup of tea but I'm obsessed with it. Shades of orange for the lips is a big upcoming trend for spring/summer 2013 and I can't wait to have a bit of a tan to wear it with! I believe the price on that was $12 like most of the Sephora lipsticks. It's affordable and the color payoff is great!
Now no Trip to Sephora is complete without my girls loading me up with samples , and one of the products they gave me was Diorshow iconic overcurl mascara which at the time Dior hadn't even actually released the line so I was super stoked for the sneak preview! This mascara is major magic. Now if you read my blog regularly you will know that I'm a pretty dedicated Buxom mascara customer but I have definitely added this to my makeup routine. It literally grabbed even the tiniest of my lashes , ones I didn't even know I had there. It separated the lashes in such a natural looking way and added volume. The only con for me is that it doesn't do a lot for me in the lengthening category but I feel like you either get volume or length in a mascara I've never found one that does both completely well so I don't really feel that is a product downfall for me. I will absolutely be purchasing the full size of this product as soon as I get back to Sephora. Well ladies this concludes our time here @ A Class of Sass thanks so much for reading and as always feel free to leave any feedback below in the comments section!

Xoxoxo. Jennifer

Accessories Company Review

Hi Sassparilla's I want to apologize first for being absent in blog posts but I have been busy with the start of a new semester at school and just life in general. Today I want to do a post that I have been meaning to do for quite some time. About a month ago my fiance ordered me a necklace off amazon that was from the company Zhe Chuan Trade Co. LTD. Besides the necklace itself being amazing and inexpensive it was delivered 5 days earlier than the expected delivery date and my favorite part is they sent me a super cute ring as well as a thank you for our business. And if that's not enough reason for you to check out there stuff enclosed in the package was a very cute handwritten note thanking us for our business. A very nice touch and to me those type of things earn my loyalty. Customer appreciation is key!  Here is a picture of the necklace I ordered as well as the ring I was sent as a thank you. I urge anyone looking for some really cute accessories to get on amazon and check out there store!

My organic Journey

Hey Sassparillas hope everyone is well! I've started back to school so hopefully my professors will go easy on me and I'll still have plenty of time for A Class of Sass blogging as you guys are so important to me and I love doing this. I have so many Ideas for A Class of Sass I sometimes have to reel myself in lol. What can I say I'm a true Pisces and we are dreamers! Anywho on to my post ...So recently my fiance and I watched the movie Food Inc. Now if you haven't watched this movie I have two things to say 1. As an animal lover it is not easy to watch 2. I feel everyone should watch it so the world can be more responsible with the way we eat. It has opened my eyes to what "eating organically" really means. I will NEVER again buy food that isn't organic and have already started converting our household over to being completely organic. It is not easy , its more expensive, but its worth it! I am still doing lots of research and learning what it means to live organically so I thought I would take you all on this journey with me and share my learning with you all.

Drugstore Dupe Review: The Beauty Blender

Today I want to review a product that I was totally hesitant to buy because I am not normally a girl who likes to apply foundation with a sponge, that being said I have read many reviews saying what an amazing tool The Beauty Blender sponge is and what a flawless finish it gives your face. Now the cheapest I've seen the Beauty Blender is for about $15 off the Amazon website, I wasn't willing to shell out 15 dollars for a sponge that may or may not work for me. So I went off in search of a knock off that worked the same way. I always head to CVS first for dupes to products I've heard about and low and behold they had one by the brand  Essence of Beauty and the price tag was a mere $4.99 so yea i'll buy that. Here is what it looks like sorry for the crappy photo I was so excited to use it that I opened it before taking a photo...oopsie?

Beauty without a product or tool is beauty true?

Hey Sassy's if your reading this I bet you noticed a bit has changed here on A Class of Sass. (if not well then cheers to being oblivious lol) I changed the format a bit and still have some changes to make. I'm not changing much content wise just making things a bit easier on the eyes for my readers I hope!
So let me know what you think, Im not sure if I'm super keen on the new layout so it may change a few times before I get it where I want it.

Today I just thought I'd write a bit about what I find really beautiful, because in today's society it is so easy to get caught up in the latest designers, trends, makeup, and must haves that a girl can lose complete sight of what is truly appealing about her in the first place. All the trends, fashion, and makeup mean nothing if you haven't got a beautiful soul. Just my opinion of course there may be tons of fashionable soul-less zombies walking around completely content but I would guess not.

So my top picks for true beauty qualities are:

Sassy Scents...my 2 cents ;)

Hello my sassy peeps! Hope your all staying warm...(is it spring yet?)

Being inside so much I have literally burned up most of the bath and body candles I bought at the Christmas Sale (I have an addiction to a cozy smelling house, don't judge me!) Which is why I was super excited to be sent a new candle type product to test out. My friend Jennifer Wheeler is an Independent Scentsy Consultant . If you are not already familiar with Scentsy, (I had heard of the company but didn't know what it was really) they offer home and personal fragrance products. For instance scented, wick-less candles in light bulb heated , totally awesome decorative ceramic warmers!

another of my rambles...

Hello there my Sassparilla's thought today I would just do a little life update ( for those that care , if you don't feel free to exit this post i will not be offended . Hell, I wont even know lol).  So I just got back from a job interview , i've been out of work since Sept  but over the holidays my boyfriend proposed to me (YAAAY) so I want to start putting some money away for our wedding. Since it looks like i'm not going to win the lotto any time soon , or intend to rob a bank ( due to the epic fashion fail of prison uniforms or suits or whatever they're called lol) It seems I'm going to need a job. I didn't dress super fancy but I did dress up a bit, I did a really simple makeup look with just a dark taupe eye and black eyeliner /mascara. I used a pink blush and did a nude lip. I wore my hair in a low side bun with wispy hair pieces pulled out and a lil bit of a bang poof or an " a la snooki" Here is a pic I took

Hello to all my sassy ladies! First off let me say Happy 2013 to you all! Then secondly i'd like to apologize for not blogging for a bit, the holidays have been quite busy and I decided to wait until the crazy holiday brain fog had lifted to do a blog post. Last but not least although fitness is definitely something I consider a part of a well balanced beauty routine I am not by any means very knowledgeable on the subject. With that being said my bestie Marissa has started a motivational health and fitness blog and I would love for you to check it out! I will link her url at the end of this post! Ok now that all the necessary updates have been made Lets get to my beauty samples product reviews shall we?
